animal equality our name reflects our
mission to create a more just and
compassionate world for all animals
using strategic and in-depth
investigations we tell the important
stories of animals who would otherwise
be left in silence their stories untold
working in eight countries animal
equalities work reaches a global
audience our international team of
investigators has filmed inside more
than 700 facilities across 11 countries
on four continents they have risked
their own safety by going undercover at
factory farms infiltrated the dog meat
trade in China broadcast live streams
from inside several facilities gone
underwater to film the slaughter of tuna
and documented the environmental impact
of pig waste lagoons from the sky with
drones animal equality is a pioneer in
the use of innovative techniques and
technologies hi animal our award-winning
virtual reality film series has allowed
the public to go inside the animal
agriculture industry in a way that
engages and changes them forever it's
been viewed by tens of thousands of
people translated into 13 different
languages and exhibited at major film
festivals including Sundance
investigations are the most impactful
tool we have to expose the reality
inside the secretive world of factory
farms trailblazing technologies have
allowed animal equalities work to be
used to inform the legislative process
around the globe using drones to
demonstrate the scale of Nepal's gaddy
my festival we're up to 250,000 animals
are sacrificed we successfully lobbied
the Indian government to prevent the
transportation of animals from India to
Nepal
animal equalities investigations also
led to a historic moment in the European
Parliament when the body voted in favor
of protecting farmed rabbits in Mexico
we documented conditions inside
slaughterhouses for the first time ever
which sparked a national dialogue about
the way animals are treated in these
facilities the investigation reached
over 230 million people and has the
support of Mexican television star Marco
Antonio overheal further history was
made when together with seven senators
who presented a legal initiative before
the Mexican Senate that finally
criminalized cruelty to farmed animals
and it was our hidden camera footage
obtained on a UK dairy farm that led to
the trial and conviction of a worker who
was caught beating cows in their calves
our investigations have also supported
our efforts to create change at some of
the world's largest companies as we work
with them to commit to animal welfare
policies that have improved the lives of
millions of animals animal equality has
also been responsible for several
investigative firsts we were the first
organization to investigate
slaughterhouses in Spain and we were the
first to document the shocking
conditions for hens in Brazil Mexico and
India
because we collaborate with journalists
from all over the world these
investigations have been seen by a
global audience our relationships with
journalists provide them with evidence
and support so that they can break
exclusive news stories that shed a light
into the dark corners of animal
agriculture our work has appeared on The
Guardian the BBC CNN El Pais Der Spiegel
Wired Corriere della Sera la dos
noticias and The Times of India in 2017
alone we have had a global media reach
of nearly 900 million with each
investigation we have a unique
opportunity to educate consumers and
make a difference in the lives of
animals we believe the public has a
right to know what happens inside
factory farms and we are here to expose
it will you join us in supporting this
innovative and life-saving work
