Animal Equality rende pubblica un’investigazione sotto copertura all’interno di una delle circa 200 strutture italiane in cui è permessa la macellazione rituale (halal e kosher). Le immagini raccolte denunciano la violenza nella fasi di macellazione ‘halal’ inferta a centinaia di montoni, durante la Festa del Sacrificio (o di Aid al Ahda). Gli animali vengono percossi e sbattuti contro delle grate, legati e costretti a vedere i propri simili barbaramente uccisi, sgozzati senza stordimento, come prevede la macellazione rituale.
In Europa il dibattito sul tema ha già portato alcuni stati, come Norvegia, Svezia, Islanda e Liechtenstein, a porre forti limitazioni alla macellazione rituale religiosa, e al suo totale divieto in due stati membri dell'Unione, la Polonia e la Danimarca, oltre che in alcuni stati federali dell'Austria e nell'intera Svizzera. Animal Equality lancia, sulla base delle immagini raccolte, una nuova campagna per ottenere il completo divieto anche in Italia.

single animal is unjust and that
there is no method of slaughter in
animal pain Quality cannot however fail
to point out how in recent years in
Italy the number of
slaughters in derogation of the

the same because it believes that any
derogation from the already insufficient rules on
so-called animal welfare goes in the
opposite direction.
