In dairy farms, reproduction is no longer natural.
Mothers are artificially inseminated.
Year after year,
calves are taken from their mothers moments
after birth so that their milk can be sold to us.
The mothers cry out, their babies cry back,
but they are never reunited.
Since male calves don't produce milk, they are left
to die or sold for slaughter
because of the separation from her baby,
the mother stops giving milk.
She is then injected with oxytocin, a banned hormone
causing intense uterine contractions.
It also has detrimental effect on consumers
like early puberty in girls gynecomastia, in boys
and vision, or hearing problems in children, pregnant women,
risk miscarriage, birth defects, low infant immunity,
and postpartum bleeding from its consumption
in a cruel deception.
Some farmers stuff the bodies of dead calves with hay
just to trick mothers into giving milk again.
These animals are forced to spend their lives tied
to short ropes, stand and sleep in their own waist.
The air is thick.
With stench, the milk is collected
and sold in such unhygienic conditions.
At one dairy, we saw animals being fed,
expired, moldy bred.
This is the hidden face of dairy,
but we have the power to end this mass torture
by eliminating dairy products
and replacing it with plant-based dairy made from soy,
almonds, peanuts, rice, and coconut.
